Your Light

I can be walking down the street,

Ahead of me, a man,

His life pitiful, pathetic

            and disappointing,

But then I remember you,

     and with your light

     the scene can be transformed

to show all the best aspects

     of his character.

Your Light,

That special way of seeing things

That makes it all alright.

A quality only you possess,

The epitome of the very best.

It can make the darkest, gloomiest night

Into my greatest delight.

It's that which I seek

And had forgotten I sought

Until you illuminated me with thought.

The one and only thought,

I will have no other,

For all else is worth naught,

Without the sight of Your Light,

My Lover.
